Coffee house chain to open new store at MK Dons ground this week
A coffee house chain is preparing to open a new store at Milton Keynes Dons Football Club’s ground.
Starbucks is set to open a store at the former home of the Red Dot Bar at stadium:mk at 9am on Friday September 25.
Mayor of Milton Keynes Paul Trendall, MK Dons manager Paul Warne and the club’s chief executive Neil Hart are set to cut the ribbon to officially open the new coffee house.
The Milton Keynes Hospital charity will be in attendance with some fun activities and information about their work, while the first 150 customers will receive goodie bags worth more than £20.

Starbucks district manager Simon Birch told the Citizen: “The store at stadium:mk was chosen to complement the existing hotel facilities and to offer supporters, and visitors to the arena, a choice of somewhere to visit before a game or event, or simply to relax or have a business meeting.
“The look and feel are completely different and represents the new Starbucks coffee house style which makes for a more relaxing experience.
“It would have been easy to just put a normal store in the stadium however we wanted to make this a unique venue which doesn’t feel like you’re sitting inside a stadium.”
MK Dons chief executive Neil Hart told the Citizen last week it would be “the largest Starbucks in the city.”
The store will open from 7am to 6pm daily, with extended opening hours into the evenings to coincide with football matchdays and events.
