Covid cases in Milton Keynes continue to rise

The number of new Covid cases in MK shows no sign of decreasing today.

Over the past 24 hours, 225 people have tested positive in the city. Over the weekend there another 510 new cases.

This makes a total of 6,727 since the start of the pandemic.

The weekly total for the seven days ending on December 16 is 1,367. Happily, there have no more Covid deaths in MK and the total toll is still 235.

Nationally there have been 33,364 new positive tests over the past 24 hours and 215 deaths.

Currently 18,771 Covid patients are in hospital throughout the UK and 1,364 of them are on ventilation.
