Covid cases remain low in Milton Keynes - but two more patients die

Over the weekend there were 92 new cases confirmed in the city and three more Covid-linked deaths recorded.Today there have been 48 new positive tests and two more deaths reported.

The total number of people who have positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic is now 18,494 while the total death toll is 426.

Some 124 Covid patients are currently in MK hospital and six of them are on ventilation.

The case rate in Milton Keynes is now down to 134.7 cases per 100,000 people. This is lower than the average for England, which is 157.5 cases per 100,000 of the population.

Nationally, new cases were down to 9,765 today, while Covid-linked deaths were down to 230.

Throughout the UK, more than 15.3 million people have received their first dose of the Covid vaccine and over 539,000 have also received the second dose.
