Covid cases still stable in Milton Keynes and deaths are going down today

Over the past 24 hours, 146 more local people have tested positive, bringing the city's total to 17,215 since the start of the pandemic.
Three more deaths were recorded today, compared to six yesterday. This, brings the city's toll up to 378. Meanwhile 178 Covid patients remain in MK hospital, eight of them on ventilation.

Hide AdThe overall case rate in Milton Keynes is now down to 452 cases per 100,000 of the population. This is down from more than 1000 just two weeks ago. But it is still higher than the rate for England, which today is 373.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Nationally, the number of new infections was 28,680 today. Deaths are still high, with1,239 recorded over the past 24 hours. This has brought the nation's death toll to 103,126 people who have died within 28 days of a positive test.
Throughout the UK, more than 7,447,199 people have now received their first Covid vaccination and 476,298 have also had their second dose.
