Covid infection rate continues to drop in Milton Keynes today

Another 265 people have tested positive in MK over the past 24 hours.

This continues the city's downward trend, and brings our case rate down to 632.4 per 100,000 people. This compares to 520.4 for the whole of England.

Sadly two more local deaths have been recorded. Since the beginning of the pandemic there have been 329 people die in MK within 28 days of having a positive Covid test.

The total number of people who have tested positive is now 15,661.

MK hospital remains full of Covid patients and staff are still under extreme pressure. Currently there are 207 people admitted with the virus and nine of them are on ventilation.

Nationally, the number of new cases is down to 37,535 today and deaths are down to 599.
