Covid infection rate stabilises today in Milton Keynes - but it's still very high

The figure is just one more than yesterday's total infection toll and it brings the MK case rate up to 959.3 cases per 100,000 population.

The city's official death toll is now 270, while 12,702 people have had positive tests since the start of the pandemic.

Currently 218 Covid patients are in MK hospital and five of them are on ventilators.

Nationally there were 52,618 new infections, a drop from yesterday. But UK deaths rose to 1,162 - its second highest daily toll ever.
