Penny Green is concerned that overgrown hedges are making it impossible for people to safety keep their distance on a stretch of pathway in Bletchley.

The pedestrians are being forced to walk along narrow roads as part of the current diversion due to Network Rail works in the centre of the town.

" Pedestrians seeking to enter the centre of Bletchley from the Buckingham Road or Sherwood Drive are required to pass down Water Eaton Road, under a bridge and then along a number of narrow roads," she said.

"The walk along Water Eaton Road is dangerous as cars pass very close to pedestrians, but this danger is compounded by the fact the overgrowth along the road side makes social distancing impossible.

"I have contacted the site controllers, and I have spoken to the council but gained no response. I also contacted a professional body to whom the work site in Bletchly is affiliated, but no one seems to care about pedestrians."

Penny is calling for the council to use its common sense and keep people safe.

"An industrial strimmer and ten minutes' work would probably conclude the matter, but no one seems to be interested," she said.

The Citizen has passed Penny's complaint on to MK Council and asked for urgent action to be taken.
