'Do more shopping in charity shops' urges Milton Keynes Conservative councillor
A city Conservative councillor has extolled the virtues charity shops in MK and urged people to use them more.
Councillor Shazna Muzammil recently visited the Willen Hospice shop in Oxley Park and came away with a great haul of goodies.

Now she is encouraging more residents to drop in and support the much-loved local charity.
Cllr Muzammil spent time speaking with the team, learning more about the shop and the important role it plays in supporting the work of Willen Hospice.
The shop offers a wide range of items, from pre-loved clothing and homeware to brand-new pieces, making it a great place for residents to find something unique.
She said: “I popped into the shop and ended up leaving with a little haul myself as there’s such a great mix of items, including some brand-new pieces too. It’s definitely worth a visit.”
She added: “The team are incredibly welcoming, and it’s clear how much they care about the work they do. Every purchase made here helps support families across MK at one of the most difficult times in their lives.”
Willen Hospice provides specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses. It costs around £11 million each year to run, with only a small proportion funded by the NHS, meaning shops like this play a crucial role in raising funds.
Cllr Muzammil said: “Places like this are at the heart of our community. If you’re nearby, do pop in – you might just find something you love while supporting an incredible local cause.
