Emergency operation in progress to rescue numerous tiny ducklings stuck down drain in Milton Keynes
Firefighters and wildlife volunteers are carrying out a dramtic rescue of numerous tiny ducklings trapped down a drain on a city estate.
So far this afternoon they have retrieved eight of the babies, which were believed to have fallen down the drain near a play area on Springfield while their mother was leading them across the estate to water.

"They thought they had them all but as they were leaving, more noises were heard from inside the drain so there are obviously more down there. They’re back on the scene down to get the others out,” said a spokesperson for the city’s MK Swan Rescue group.
Firefighters and workers from Thames Water are in attendence.
The mother duck has anxiously watched the rescue and, when all the ducklings are safely recovered, they will be transported to the nearest water.
