Events promoter ordered to pay more than £5,000 for illegal and dangerous advertising at Milton Keynes roundabout
An events promoter has been ordered to pay more than £5,000 for illegal and dangerous advertising on a roundabout in Milton Keynes.
Project One X Ltd, based on Great Portland Street in London, was hit with the punishment after the company was found guilty at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court of posting numerous adverts illegally around the city, in the build-up to two events they had arranged at Arena MK in October 2025.
The advertising included six large posters placed on the Kingston Roundabout, which Milton Keynes City Council claimed risked distracting drivers and obstructing their view at the busy junction.
The city council attempted to contact Project One X Ltd during its investigation, but was summoned to the magistrates’ court after it did not respond.

No representative from the company attended the hearing, and in its absence the firm was found guilty of fly-posting.
Magistrates issued Project One X Ltd a £3,750 fine, a £1,500 victim surcharge, and ordered the company to pay the city council’s legal and investigation costs of £558.
The city council’s cabinet member for public realm Jennifer Wilson-Marklew said: “We take cases like this extremely seriously because illegal advertising is not just unsightly, it can be genuinely dangerous when it blocks a driver’s view and distracts people on busy roads.
“What might seem like a minor issue can create real risks for road users. Our teams work hard to investigate offences like this and ensure businesses are held accountable when they fail to follow the rules.”
