"I work with children as young as six and adults who have a range of disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy and downs syndrome. They are all truly inspirational in how they dedicate themselves to their fitness programmes," she said.

The service has proved a lifeline for families to access activity their children could not normally enjoy due to lack of opportunities in Milton Keynes.

Cheryl's own daughter Jasmine is 18 and has a rare life-limiting condition that affects her daily living.

"I am acutely aware that there a fewer opportunities for people with disabilities and long term health conditions to become active. Everyone deserves the same opportunity to be active and enjoy the benefits of moving and feeling good," she said.

She trained as a personal trainer disability specialist to enable her to help people with all levels of ability and long term conditions, with the aim of ensuring they all reach their full potential.

"Every person on this planet is unique and their workout should reflect that," she added.

"For one person it might mean improving co-ordination, another their upper body strength or just functionality to make everyday tasks just a little easier. But let's not forget that fitness can be fun too and can it help mental well-being to have a happier healthier life.

"Exercise has huge benefits for people with disabilities and This Ability Fitness was created to ensure everyone can enjoy these benefits."
