Four more Covid-19 cases are confirmed in Milton Keynes over past 24 hours

Four more coronavirus cases have been confirmed today, making a total of 11 since Friday.

And the number of untested cases in the community is likely to be higher than the government released figure, says MK council leader Pete Marland, who has warned local restrictions will be imposed if the city's infection rate continues to rise.

He said the majority of fresh cases in MK were among people in their 20s and 30s. See Citizen story hereAccording to the government, there have now been 926 confirmed cases in Milton Keynes since the pandemic began.

Nationally 713 more people have tested positive over the past 24 hours. There are currently 930 Covid-19 patients in hospitals around the UK, with 73 of them needing ventilators.

Three deaths of Covid patients have been recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total UK death toll to 41,369.
