Rotary MK wants to raise cash to spend on goodie boxes filled with snacks, refreshing drinks, hand creams and other treats.

A spokesman said: "Under pressure like never before, our NHS staff are exhausted and traumatised by the enormous task before them.

"Please help us show you care by giving £5 to stock a goodie box with energising snacks, cold drinks, moisturiser, wet wipes to refresh a face that has had full PPE on for many hours, and moisturiser for sore, dry hands."

Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) has refurbished a large, relaxing staff rest-room, known as The Hub, where staff members can relax away from the stresses of the wards.

"Wearing full PPE all day to carry out what is an already physical and emotional role caring for our sickest in society, our NHS workers are being pushed to the limit," said the Rotary MK spokesman.

"To support them in continuing this vital work, we are supporting the NHS staff in MKUH by continually restocking the goodie box in the staff rest room.

"The need has never been stronger than it is right now for MK's NHS staff to be thanked in a practical way. Donate here and Rotary MK will work with MKUH charity to purchase the most needed items for the goodie box."

£5 will buy an energising pack for two exhausted workers.
