A Gulliver's spokesman said: "A number of changes have been implemented across the resort, with some areas having to remain closed for the time being, but the good news is that visitors can have a well-deserved day out, or time away, and be confident that park management have ensured their health and well-being is a top priority."

The main theme park, Adventurers Village, Gulliver’s Meadow campsite, Dino & Farm park will all be open from Saturday.

The areas that remain closed include Indoor Play and Soft Play Areas, theatre and stage shows and the 'SFear' and Splash Park. Updates on the re-opening of these areas will be advised as information becomes available.

Food will be available at snack kiosks and gift shops will be open but with controlled access.

The spokesman said: "Rides and some play areas will have capacity restrictions so guidelines can be met and close- contact rides will be restricted or temporarily unavailable, but the Gulliver’s team have worked hard over the past three months to ensure all visitors that a visit is still as fun as ever and a great day out for all members of the family.

"The park will look a little different, but it’s all in the interests of safety and maintaining the importance of social distancing. Guests will notice large markers on floors and fences to help them, along with hand sanitiser units, hygiene screens and some of the Gulliver’s team wearing protective clothing in necessary areas."

Julie Dalton, managing director of the Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, told the Citizen: “At last we can open our gates for the 2020 season, and we’re thrilled to get going. Our team has worked really hard over the lockdown period to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff; we’re all in this together and it will take some time for us all to adapt to new ways but our overall objective was to ensure visitors to Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes still enjoy their time with us and are reassured we’ve taken all the appropriate measures to ensure their wellbeing."

She added: “A trip to Gulliver’s Land wouldn’t be complete without Gully Mouse and he’ll be out and about welcoming guests and giving plenty of air-hugs from a distance."
