ICU Sister Anna Garofall Hunt put out a plea to local businesses to reward her team of staff after all their hard work.

She said: "We have recently worked through the coronavirus pandemic, something that's been incredibly challenging but overall very successful. I can't tell you how amazing and selfless our nursing and medical staff have been.

"Unfortunately due to the infection control measures our staff's work hoodies had to be disposed of. We are now looking for local support to help to re issue our staff with trust logo'd and named zip up hoodies. Is this something you could help us with please? "

Sister Anna added: "By not asking staff to have to pay for the clothes they wear to work we hope to show how the local community value the work they do on a daily basis but especially during this period of time when they have worked over and above the normal requirements and done so with such hope and enthusiasm."

Kiln Farm-based workwear, uniform and footwear specialists, WTC Workwear responded to the call and promptly produced 49 hoodies embroidered with the MKUH Trust logo and individual names of all the staff on the ward.

Sales Manager, Simon Kirschner-Heavens said: "My wife and I used the hospital during the lockdown for the birth of our child and were amazed and very grateful to the NHS. I feel very strongly about supporting the local

Sister Anna said: “The staff are over the moon and we want to really thank the company and Simon for this extremely kind donation to the MKUH ICU."
