Huge new 10-storey Premier Inn hotel is completed in Central Milton Keynes

The Avebury Boulevard building is Whitbread's sixth Premier Inn hotel in MK.

Due to open in the Autumn, it will feature a a Bar + Block steakhouse restaurant and generate between 75 and 80 new jobs.

The hotel was developed in partnership with Dominvs Group, and building work was continued during lockdown.

Additional on-site measures and working practices were introduced to protect workers and the general public and ensure social distancing, says the company.

Whitbread will now start to fit out the interior of the hotel and the restaurant.

Alex Flach, UK Development Director at Whitbread, said: “While the coronavirus pandemic has created significant challenges for the hospitality industry, we remain committed to our strategy of growing and innovating Premier Inn and hub by Premier Inn in the UK and Ireland."

He is confident the new hotel will be popular with customers because it is in the "heart of the action" and looks "fantastic".
