IKEA inviting Milton Keynes shoppers to taste apple juice made from surplus British fruit
IKEA is inviting shoppers in Milton Keynes to taste apple juice made from surplus British fruit.
Free bottles of Great British Bin Juice, a limited-edition juice made using wonky or surplus British apples, will be handed out at the store on Bletcham Way this weekend.
IKEA says the juice is designed to get the country talking about the value of food which might otherwise be thrown away.
Alongside the giveaways of the bottles of bin juice, IKEA is also hosting free Waste Not Want Not workshops on Saturday June 6, where shoppers will receive advice on food storage, meal preparation and ways of turning leftovers into new meals.

The bottles of bin juice feature QR codes which provide customers with 20 per cent off the IKEA 365+ food storage range, giving them practical tools to keep produce fresh and visible.
It also features IKEA 365+ branded food containers and lids to help preserve leftovers, as well as food storage baskets to help customers keep track of what they have to use, while improving air circulation.
Country food manager at IKEA UK Karen Hughes said: “At IKEA, we believe good food should always be valued and enjoyed.
‘Great British Bin Juice’ is a fun and simple way to show how ingredients, often overlooked, can be turned into something delicious.
“But most importantly, it’s about sharing practical solutions that can help individuals make more of the food they already have.
“When we rethink the value of what’s already in our kitchens, those small daily habits can make a big difference.”
Great British Bin Juice will be available at IKEA’s Milton Keynes store from June 6.
