Jardine motors to close down flagship premises in Milton Keynes

Jardines Motor Group is closing its head office at Northfields in MK, it has been revealed today.

The site incorporate showrooms for Milton Keynes Audi, Lancaster Jaguar, Lancaster Land Rover, Lancaster BMW and Lancaster MINI Milton Keynes.

At the same time the company, which has a £2bn turnover, is closing a second major site in Colchester and it is understood there will be hundreds of redundancies across the two sites.

It has not been confirmed what job roles are affected by the redundancies, but consultation with the affected staff has started today.

Neil Williamson, CEO of Jardine Motors Group said: "Following on from the well-documented impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the automotive industry and UK business, we have made the difficult decision to review the structure of our operations and entered into a period of consultation with our teams across the group."

He added: "While these are challenging times, our single goal is to ensure we safeguard as many jobs as we can and as a result ensure the longevity of the business."

Jardine operates from dozens of different locations across the UK and represents 16 brands including Ferrari,, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Audi, Land Rover and McLaren.

The Citizen asked the Jardine groups press office whether all the dealerships would close down when the head office was shut.

A spokesman said: "We have no further comment."
