The centre worked with KidsOut charity to created tags for each child living in a Women's Aid refuge this year.

Shoppers, staff and retailers were able to pick a tag showing the age of the child and the gift they would live to receive.

They then bought that gift and they are now being distributed to the children and teenagers, who might not otherwise have had any presents to open this Christmas.

Kevin Duffy, centre:mk director, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the response and can’t thank everyone enough who has donated a gift. The kindness and generosity of our guests has been astounding and will make a real difference to children in our community who have suffered too much this year.

"To be able to put a smile on their face on Christmas morning is the best gift we can”
