A tiny blue budgie has been saved from a pair of the world's fastest predatory birds in MK.

Two peregrine falcons have been living for the past five years in an old crows nest high in the eaves of MK Stadium.

This morning the stadium had unexpected visitor - in the form of a little blue budgerigar.

Dons' Operations Manager Mark Watson was quick to catch the budgie before the resident falcons swooped. He is now safe and warm in the Mark's office and an appeal has been put out to find his owner.

"We're guessing he's someones treasured friend, can you help us find its owner?" said a stadium spokesperson.

Meanwhile it is hoped the resident peregrine falcons will produce another chick this year. In 2015, cameras managed to catch their first fledgling flying the nest.

It was a first for Milton Keynes and only the second known breeding site in Buckinghamshire.
