An MK hospital spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a patient in his 70s who had underlying health conditions sadly died on Wednesday, March 18. He had tested positive for COVID-19.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Last weekend an elderly man and woman, both in their 90s, died at the hospital. Both were admitted with Covid-19 symptoms and were put into isolation immediately by hospital staff

The pair had no connection with each other and were not related in any way to the first victim at the hospital, an 83-year-old gentleman who died on March 5.
