Milton Keynes Central station is on track to celebrate the Queen's birthday

Passengers at Milton Keynes Central train station will be invited to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday this week in an event called '˜Station to Station Queen's Celebration.'

On Friday, visitors will be treated to a royal themed event, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy a string quartet performance and some tasty cakes on the overbridge, which will be festooned in bunting for the occasion.

Steve Helfet, London Midland’s head of west coast services, said: “We are very proud to be supporting Station to Station, a fantastic national initiative designed to bring people from across the local community together in celebration of this milestone event.

“Railway stations are much more than a place where you simply get on and off a train – they serve as a place to meet, chat and enjoy something to eat and drink.

“As stations sit at the heart of the community, we are delighted to have the opportunity to welcome local people and regular users of the station to come and enjoy this momentous occasion with us.”

‘Station to Station Queen’s Celebration’ is anticipated to be one of the biggest events to be hosted by the UK’s rail industry in living memory.
