Milton Keynes child author publishes a novel at the age of nine

A nine-year-old girl spent lockdown writing her own book - and she is now celebrating it getting published.

Ashirai Ndoro penned Diaries of a Drama Queen while her Brooklands Farm school was closed during the peak of the Covid pandemic.

The industrious youngster said she had always dreamed of writing a book and lockdown gave her the time to do it.

She is already planning a sequel to the story, which centres around a young girl girl called Marley who moves to a new school and struggles to gain popularity in an already established group of friends.

The book was released this month, just in time for Ashirai's 10th birthday, and is available in Amazon or here .

Proud mum Tendayi said: "Ashirai says the lockdown gave her time to follow through on something she had always dreamed about doing. This achievement is a positive outcome of how the then nine year old handled.the very difficult time of lockdown and overcame the challenges of having all her usual activities and clubs cut off."

Tendayi added: "Ashirai is a born achiever and 'funmaster'. She is a highly creative young entrepreneur."
