The rate today is 216 cases per 100,000 people - half of what is was in December. This compares to the country's average of 212.6 cases per 1000,000 of the population.

However, the city's death rate is not dropping accordingly and sadly three more Covid-linked deaths of local people have been recorded today. This bring the city's death toll up to 416, with 41 of them happening over the past seven days.

The Covid infection rate remains stable, with 57 positive tests over the past 24 hours.

Nationally, 12,364 people tested positive today and 1,052 deaths were recorded.
