Milton Keynes Covid case rate is now well under the average for England

Over the weekend there were 92 new cases confirmed in the city. But three more Covid-linked deaths have been recorded over the two days.

The total number of people who have positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic is now 18,446, while the total death toll is 424.

Some 24 Covid patients are currently in MK hospital and eight of them are on ventilation.

The case rate in Milton Keynes now stands at 152.9 cases per 100,000 people. This is lower than the average for England, which is 167.5 cases per 100,000 of the population. The average for the whole of the UK is 158.7

Nationally, there were 24,280 new cases over the weekend and 871 Covid-linked deaths.

Throughout the UK 15,062,189 people have received their first dose of the Covid vaccine and 537,715 have also received the second dose.
