Milton Keynes day centre closes after staff member returns positive Covid test

Carers Short Break Service on Mathiesen Road in Bradville has temporarily closed its doors after a positive Covid test was confirmed on the site today (April 29).
A worker at the centre tested positive for the virus this morning forcing the site's closure as a precaution.

A spokesperson from the Milton Keynes Council said: "We can confirm that someone who works in the day care centre in Mathieson Road tested positive for COVID-19 this morning (April 29). As a precautionary measure, a deep cleaning of the centre and vehicles is underway and the service is currently closed. We will continue to work closely with PHE and public health colleagues and will reopen the day care centre when it is safe to do so.”
The Short Breaks Service is registered with The Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is available to adults with learning disabilities who have the highest and most complex needs. The site is used to provide day support, weekend and overnight stays which also offer a break for carers.
People who use the site are given a detailed individual support plan to meet their physical and emotional needs.
