Milton Keynes faces more flooding as rain persists

They have urged motorists to be careful as flash floods are appearing on roads.

A council spokesman said: "Due to the persistent high level of rainfall over the few last hours there are some parts of the road network that are flooded but still passable. Take care if out and about and drive to the conditions."

Parts in MK close to rivers, including Newport Pagnell and Stony Stratford, flooded badly over Christmas. There is currently no flood warning in place from the Environment Agency on the River Great Ouse, though levels are rising.

There is, however, a flood alert for the River Ouzel for part of Milton Keynes including Water Eaton in Bletchley and Willen.
