Milton Keynes GP surgeries and pharmacies will stay open on Good Friday and Easter Monday

GP practices and pharmacies across Milton Keynes will be providing services over the Bank Holiday Easter weekend to support the local health system.

Where possible GP practices will be open tomorrow (Good Friday) and Easter Monday.

Arrangements will differ for each surgery over the weekend so patients should visit their practice website for specific opening hours and contact details.

They should call the surgery directly if they need to speak to a GP. The surgery voicemail will advise callers what to do if they can’t get through to them at that time, says the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) commissioning collaborative.

All pharmacies in MK have been asked to open from 2pm until 5pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday with some pharmacies extending these hours.

Pharmacies will open as normal on Saturday 11 April and some will be open on Easter Sunday.

"If anyone is concerned that they may have COVID-19 symptoms, they should not visit a health setting. Instead they should use the NHS 111 online service in the first instance 111.nhs.uk/service/COVID-19 to check out their symptoms and get advice and information about what to do next," said a BLMK spokesman.

"Patients should only ring NHS111 if they are unable to manage their Coronavirus symptoms, have been instructed to do so or do not have access to the internet. This will allow the NHS111 telephone service to help those who need them most," he said.
