Milton Keynes man proposes to his girlfriend on a famous ROLLERCOASTER ride

Daniel Sanders, 29, took Abbie Bull away for the Bank holiday weekend to Great Yarmouth, where they both love spending time at the Pleasure Beach.

He told unsuspecting Abbie, who is also 29, that he had won a “mystery Facebook competition” for a private ride on the attraction's famous rollercoaster.

In fact, he had secretly contacted the Pleasure Beach in advance and organised the perfect proposal.

As the ride was about to finish, the speaker played their favourite song, Beauty and the Beast, from the Disney movie.

As soon as they dismounted, Daniel went down on one knee and popped the question.

Delighted Abbie said: “I was really shocked. When I heard the music playing I thought that’s nice, that’s our song, and [Daniel] got out and started waffling on, I knew he was going to propose.”

The couple both went to Stantonbury Campus and have known each other since they were 12 years old.

When they left school they remained friend on Facebook and met up again a couple of years ago.

"It just went from there,” said Abbie.

The Disney song is a reference to their pet names for each other, Beauty and The Beast, she said.

The couple are staying in Great Yarmouth tonight to celebrate their engagement and plan to return to MK tomorrow.

Today Daniel has thanked Pleasure Beach staff for helping him.

He said: "Thank you so much for making the proposal to my fiancée so special yesterday. We really appreciate it. I will treasure the memory for years to come."
