They hope the move will help them promote themselves and get customers back.

The two Conservative MPs have this week relaunched the #BounceBackMK campaign, which is aimed at helping local businesses recover from the effects of the Covid pandemic.

Both have been out and about across Milton Keynes meeting with businesses ranging from cafes and pubs to local non-essential retail shops.

Ben Everitt, the MK North MP, visited The Watts Arms in Hanslope and The Cherry Tree in Olney to understand how the pandemic has impacted them and to listen to their views on Government support.

Iain Stewart, the MP for MK South, was out across his constituency. Iain was in Stony Stratford meeting with the business owners of Out Of Office Coffee, Stony Sweet Shop, MacIntyre Coffee Shop and French Affaire. Iain also visited Playful Pottery and the MK Community Shop in Shenley Church End.

The overall mood was of optimism for the return of business and of excitement seeing customers again, he said.

"We can keep unlocking in a cautious but irreversible way to help Milton Keynes bounce back and bounce back better.”

"It was great to be in my constituency last Friday, seeing local shops and businesses busy welcoming back their customers. Over the next few months, I will be visiting a variety of different businesses to see how they have been getting on with the restrictions being eased.

"I am pleased to relaunch #BounceBackMK and do my part by shopping locally, supporting our businesses."

Mr Everitt said: “The last 12 months have been so tough for businesses and it’s vital we all get out there and support them bounce back in a safe way. I want to get out and meet more of our local businesses over the next few months so please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.

As part of the scheme Ben Everitt has published a guide to help residents find pubs currently open from 12th April in Milton Keynes North: You can view it here.
