Thousands of people voted in this year’s awards for their favourite places to visit with the family as venues begin to open across the county.

Two winners from Milton Keynes have beaten off stiff competition, with CMK sci-fi themed restaurant Robotazia, winning the Best Family-Friendly Place to Eat and Milton Keynes Museum winning the Best Museum category.

Winners were announced at a virtual ceremony last Saturday.

”This is great news and comes at a time when the museum is preparing to reopen to visitors, so we couldn't be happier," said Bill Griffiths, director of Milton Keynes Museum, "We want to thank all of our supporters who voted for us to win the Little Ankle Biters Award.

"The museum is only as good as its supporters, and we have the best supporters we could hope for. We hope to see you all again soon."

Also thrilled are the owners of Robozia, partners Joy Gittens and Mark Swannell.

"It was fantastic news hearing we had won,” said Mark. “We only opened in August last year, and have had such an amazing response. We shall display our Little Ankle Biters Award with pride, and give thanks and appreciation to all those who nominated and voted for us.”

Little Ankle Biters is a free website providing trusted reviews of family friendly businesses in one place, with all content written by local mums.

It is now established in six counties across the south of England with plans to expand across the UK this year and the company has recently launched its own clothing brand supporting female empowerment as well as providing other seasonal gifts for Fathers Day and teachers.

Little Ankle Biters’ Awards co-founder, mum of two Kate Gregory, said: “We launched this year’s Little Ankle Biters’ Awards just after Christmas to offer a little hope and positivity when we were all plunged back into lockdown. We have been truly amazed at the response, with over 8,000 people voting, and would like to thank everyone who got involved.

"We have fantastic community spirit in Buckinghamshire and hopefully our awards will boost morale of those running family-friendly attractions and businesses as they continue to navigate through difficult times.”
