Milton Keynes road closures: eight for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight
Milton Keynes's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A5, from 8pm December 6 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 northbound, A421 to A509 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.
• A5, from 8pm November 3 2025 to 6am January 21 2026, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5 both directions, Redmoor Roundabout to A5 / M1 Link Road - entry slip road closures, exit slip road closures, lane closure, traffic signals and diversion routes due to electrical works on behalf of National Highways.
And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A5, from 9pm December 8 to 5am December 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5 southbound, Abbey Hill to Portway - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.
• M1, from 10pm December 8 to 5am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 15 to junction 14 - lane closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.
• A421, from 10pm December 8 to 5am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 14 to junction 15 - entry slip road closure and diversion route for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.
• A5, from 8pm December 9 to 5am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 both directions, Abbey Hill Roundabout to Bletcham Roundabout - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.
• A5, from 9pm December 11 to 6am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 both directions, Stony Stratford roundabout to Redmoor roundabout - diversion route on behalf of ECL Civils.
• M1, from 10pm December 11 to 5am December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 14 to junction 15 - lane closure for litter clearance on behalf of National Highways.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
