The road is set to be closed between the Stonebridge roundabout and the first mini-roundabout.

The New Bradwell & Bradville Local Facebook page reports that the main is collapsed at 3.8 metres deep in the redway and carriageway.

It is reported that there is no effluent on the carriageway as this is currently being pumped out of manholes either side of the redway.

The road closure, which could be in force for up to eight weeks, will enable Anglian Water to run overland pipe across the road, before digging down 3.8 metres in the carriageway.

The One Network website says the closure is “to excavate and reinstate to repair a 3.8 metres deep sewer in the carriageway and footway that is 12 metres in length.”

The diversion for the road closure is via Grafton Street, Monks Way, Saxon Street and Newport Road, while pedestrians from the Haversham direction will be diverted across the Haversham roundabout and up Haversham Road behind the bowls club.

Pedestrians from the Milton Keynes direction will be diverted around the redway and subway.
