MÓTUS, based in Elder Gate, will host Mapdance 2020 at The Venue MK on Tuesday, September 22 at 7pm.

A MÓTUS spokesperson said: "As you are aware, the arts and cultural heritage sector has been heavily impacted by the ramifications of Covid-19 since March. Performing arts and cultural venues across MK, and the world, have been closed to the public."

The spokesperson said MÓTUS is delighted to put on the live show and that there will be an 'enticingly varied set of exciting new works' from renowned and upcoming contemporary choreographers.

The roster of new artists this year includes Gary Clark, Ceyda Tanc and Noa Shadur, plus the revival of Inside the Animal by Jose Agudo from the 2018 tour.

The University of Chichester’s MA touring company will also be in attendance which, according to the spokesperson, is an established group of dynamic young dancers recruited nationally and internationally. Their diverse repertoire offers audiences a refreshing mixture of gritty dance-theatre, wry humour, and both intricate and questioning choreography.

The spokesperson said: "If you would like to support the arts, we are keeping tickets affordable as we know how tough the last few months have been for everyone. All tickets must be confirmed in advance and you will be allocated seats on arrival to ensure social distancing.

"There will be a limited capacity and you will be required to wear a face mask throughout your visit."

Tickets are £8-£10 and are on sale at: www.thevenuemk.com/index.php/what-s-on/all-events.
