Milton Keynes trials new waste app to make recycling even easier
Milton Keynes City Council is piloting a free smartphone recycling app - with helpful features like reminders for different bin days.
After just being named the country’s number one place for recycling, Milton Keynes is piloting a free waste and recycling app for smartphones and tablets to make managing your bins even easier.
The secure app has many perks, including allowing residents to quickly check what bins will be collected that week, with an option to sign up for weekly reminders to put the right one out.
The app can also send you a notification if there’s a change to your usual collection, for instance due to bad weather.
A handy search tool tells you which items can and can’t be recycled and which bin to put them in.
The app also includes links to book a slot at a local recycling centre or to report a missed collection, graffiti or fly tipping.
The free Milton Keynes City Council app is available to download now from the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android users, with links from www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling.
