Shaun Wilson earned the accolade of world record holder after creating the longest minecart track to be built and ridden in three minutes.

His track, built from his MK home last month, consisted of 305 pieces.

A spokesman for Guinness World Records said: "Shaun attempted this record for personal achievement and because it sounded fun."

There are a number of Minecraft world records documented, including the world's largest pyramid to be built.

Completed by a group of players in Canada, the pyramid took more than a year to build using 2,629,176 blocks and is a 1:1 scale reconstruction of the Great Pyramid of Giza

Being in survival mode, the group had to mine and gather each block from the world by hand.

There are still four outstanding world records to grab for Minecraft players. These are: Fastest time to build a castle in Minecraft creative mode, fastest time to build a rocket in Minecraft survival mode, fastest time to saddle and stable 10 horses in survival mode, and fastest time to build an igloo in survival mode
