National Covid infection rates rocket today - but there's just six new infections in Milton Keynes

As the nation reports more than 7,000 new Covid cases in 24 hours, MK has seen just six new cases.

According to figures from Public Health England, 1,150 have now been officially diagnosed in MK since the start of the pandemic.

This compares to 1,144 yesterday (Monday).

Nationally there have been 7,143 new cases during the same period. Covid-linked deaths throughout the UK rose to 71 over the past 24 hours.

None of these deaths have been in MK, where there has been no coronavirus-linked fatalities for several weeks.
