And there has been just one Covid-linked death recorded locally over the past 24 hours, according to government figures.

The figures show there here were 39 new positive tests in MK today, bringing the total to 18,927 since the start of the pandemic.

The new death brings the city's total number of Covid-linked fatalities to 444.

The number of Covid patients in MK hospital is currently 98 and three of these are on ventilators.

Milton Keynes' seven-day case rate now stands at 129.9 cases per 100,000 people. This compares to the UK average rate of 116.4 cases per 100,000 of the population.

Nationally 9,938 people tested positive today and 442 deaths were recorded. More than 18.2 million people have now had the first dose of vaccine.
