New ‘great-value’ rail service set to connect Milton Keynes with Scotland
A new north-south rail service is connecting Milton Keynes with Central Scotland, on a fast and affordable route.
The service begins in London Euston and ends 350 miles away, with its final stop at Stirling in central Scotland.
Ticket prices from Euston start at £29.90, with services also stopping at Nuneaton, Crewe, Carlisle, Lockerbie, Motherwell, Whifflet, Greenfaulds and Larbert.
Operator Lumo is hoping that the rail line gets an early boost from World Cup football fans travelling to see matches, with both England and Scotland competing.

Richard Salkeld, director of communications and partnerships at Lumo, added: “We're delighted to be opening up one of Scotland's most historic and vibrant cities to even more visitors.
“Our new service makes it easier and more affordable for football fans to travel sustainably and enjoy what promises to be a unique atmosphere in Scotland during the World Cup.
“Whether customers are heading to Stirling to support their team, explore the city's rich history or use it as a gateway to the highlands, we’re proud to offer a convenient, great-value rail option that helps bring communities together and supports local businesses.”
Scottish business leaders have also shared their excitement for the new service, with Dr Liz Cameron CBE, the former chief executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, calling it “a win‑win for all”.
Dr Cameron added: “This development will attract investors into Scotland by improving access to talent, trade, and creating new opportunities. It has already given a welcome boost to confidence and investment.”
