Police issued a one month closure order on The New Inn on Bradwell Road in New Bradwell in December.

They had a warrant to search the premises on December 11 and found a quantity of drugs plus a "substantial" amount of money.

Drugs swab testing showed high levels of drugs on a number of areas within the pub

Investigating officer PC Adrian Cafe said at the time: “It is rare for a closure order to be granted on a commercial premises but this order aims to prevent criminal behaviour at this address and to ensure public safety. Drugs are a blight on our community and whilst I understand that this closure order will have an impact on the local area, this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated."

He added: “We will continue to work closely with the premises owners and our partner agencies to conduct a licensing review and ensure appropriate measures are taken to maintain public safety.”

Last month a meeting of MK Council’s licensing sub-committee was held to review the New Inn's alcohol licence following the closure order.

James Anderson, a partner with law firm Poppleston Allen, said the incident had caused the tenant, Boris Marcow, and the pub’s freehold owner, Bedford-based brewer Charles Wells, “grave concern and no little embarrassment.”

By the time the pub's closure order expired, the country had entered lockdown and it has never been able to re-open.

Now the owners have posted adverts on social media looking for a live-in person or couple to take over the day-to running of the premises after lockdown ends.

They say the successful applicant should be experienced in all aspects of running and controlling a busy pub business and have a hands-on ability to assist a busy kitchen if necessary.

"Ideally you will be personable, with an outgoing personality and an ability to communicate with both staff and customers," states the advert.
