Free tea, coffee and homemade cakes are provided and more will be added to the menu at a later date.

Completely staffed by volunteers, the cafe will allow people to connect with others in the community and the volunteers will be able to signpost guests to help and services when needed.

Mary Nicholls, the cafe team leader, said: “Today has been amazing. We have had so many wonderful guests come and visit today and I am hopeful that this will continue when we are open again on Wednesday June 2."

" I know I have really missed going to a cafe and having a sweet treat and a good cup of coffee so I am really pleased that we were able to open to the community today.”

The Connections Cafe is a community project set up by St Mary’s Bletchley, a church serving West Bletchley.

“I am so proud of the volunteers who have been working so hard on making our first day such a success,” explained St Mary’s Bletchley Community Pastor Maryann Brooks.

"With all the preparation they have put in to serve our community. I can’t wait to see what happens next for the Connections Cafe!”
