New padel courts set for Milton Keynes after £860k investment

A Milton Keynes football provider is adding a new sport to its line-up, giving players across the city a fresh way to get active.

Powerleague, the UK’s leading small-sided football and multi-sport provider, will open the doors to four padel courts at its Milton Keynes club on Saturday, October 24.

Around 1,600 people already play football at the club each week, and padel will be open to them as well as the wider Milton Keynes community.

The canopied courts are backed by an £860k investment in the club and sit alongside the existing football pitches. They are built for year-round play, so teams, friendship groups and families can get on court whatever the weather.

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, with demand for courts continuing to rise. Milton Keynes joins a growing list of Powerleague clubs where it is now on offer, with the launch taking the brands UK padel court count to 55.

John Gillespie, CEO of Powerleague, said: “Our Milton Keynes club is already a huge part of the local football scene, and padel gives our players and the community another way to enjoy it.

“With the courts fully covered, the darker, wetter months won’t get in the way, so people can keep playing right through winter. We can’t wait to see them full from the first weekend.”
