New vegetarian restaurant opens with a bang in Milton Keynes
A new vegetarian eatery welcomed the city mayor, a dance show and even a radio station at its opening party in Milton Keynes.
Indian Vegetarian restaurant, Yeh dosti, opened its doors on Saturday, March 28, at its vibrant launch party. The cosy eatery welcomed the Milton Keynes Mayor and Deputy Mayor, radio host Jessica from the Asian Community Radio (who was live on air), and a Bollywood dance group that gave a mesmerising performance.
Yeh Dosti was originally a small catering business, with owner Anjana cooking everything from her home kitchen. But the business has expanded to a restaurant by popular demand, offering indoor seating and takeaways.
Many of the dishes are inspired by Anjana’s cherished family recipes from India, passed down through generations. The food is entirely home‑made and prepared with the same love and care found in family kitchens across India.
Her weekly specials have already gained a local following, with dishes inspired by North Indian cuisine and traditional festive flavours. Some exciting experimental meals are also on offer.
Owner Anjana said: “I’m looking forward to spreading joy through my food to the community. Happy stomach, happy heart, as they say.
“I love breakfast - so I’m very happy to be serving authentic Delhi dishes as well as some intercultural dishes. Our cafe is fun and warm space where everyone is welcome and can come enjoy!”
