No Covid-19 patients currently needing treatment at Milton Keynes hospital

Mayor of MK Andrew Geary paid a socially-distanced visit to the hospital this morning and met CEO Joe Harrison.

"I was informed that there are currently no Covid-19 patients being treated in MK Hospital at the present time," said Andrew.

He added: "I thought it important to pass this good news on."

The news was welcomed on social media by members of the public, who were full of praise for the way in which the hospital has coped during the crisis.

Others hoped the lack of Covid patients meant cancelled routine appointments and procedures for other conditions could now go ahead.

But some were sceptical that the good news would last.

One person said: "Good luck with that continuing. It probably won't last with so many people using the buses with no mask. (Not just exempt people). I thought drivers were supposed to enforce the mask wearing. One guy took his mask off to cough, left it off and coughed a few more times...."
