Nominations open for Milton Keynes Mayor’s annual awards
Nominations are now open for the Milton Keynes Mayor’s awards for 2026, which will recognise individuals or groups who have made a positive impact in the city over the past 12 months.
The awards will take place during Mayor James Lancaster’s Civic Reception on Friday February 27 2026 across ten categories.
There are three sport-related categories - School Sporting Achievements, celebrating successes of school sports teams, Sporting Facilities, which celebrates facilities or open spaces which provide opportunities for sport, and Sports Advocate of the Year, for an individual who inspires sports men and women of the future.
Other categories are MK Newcomers, celebrating recently launched businesses, charities or associations, Arts, Culture and Heritage, celebrating contributions to the city’s culture and Volunteer of the Year, for an individual who has given up their spare time to make a positive difference for an organisation in the city.

There are also categories recognising those who have supported the city’s Armed Forces community, Diversity and Inclusion, Care Givers, who care for residents in Milton Keynes and Mentor of the Year, for an individual who has helped to mentor others in any field.
Launching the awards, the Mayor wrote on social media: "As Mayor, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people and organisations who go above and beyond for our community - often without expecting recognition.
"I’m thrilled to officially open nominations for the 2026 Mayor’s Awards.
"It is now the communities turn to help us celebrate these unsung heroes!"
The awards are being hosted by MKFM and more details and submission forms are available here.
