Oops! Look who's in the wrong for pavement parking in Milton Keynes
In the midst of a citywide clampdown on careless parking, the council is to investigate an embarrassing photo of one of its own vans parked squarely on a high street pavement.
The van, clearly bearing the MK City Council logo, was spotted blocking the pavement in Woburn Sands, last week – close to a mini roundabout, on ddouble yellow lines, and feet away from where the council has installed anti-parking bollards.

It was close to Tesco, which has its own car park, and residents say the driver came out of Tesco a few minutes later bearing a carrier bag of shopping.
The Citizen forwarded the picture to thecouncil, which only days ago welcomed new government proposals to give local authorities much clearer powers to penalise drivers who block pavements.
A council spokesperson told us: "This vehicle should not have parked here and we are investigating the matter...Parking on footways is an obstruction and creates difficulties, particularly for pedestrians, wheelchair users and people with pushchairs.”
