Patients invited to register at brand new £9.5m health centre in Milton Keynes

People in MK are invited to register their interest in becoming a patient at a new purpose-built health centre in the city.

A new 'state-of-the-art health centre in the western area of the city is looking for more than 22,000 people to become patients.

The Whitehouse Health Centre is on Brahaman Way (off Barrosa Way) on the Whitehouse estate.

Building work was completed last month and the centre is expected to open in September, when it will be be run by OneMedical Group - an award-winning health and wellbeing company who work within the NHS.

Costing £9.5-million, the facility was is jointly funded by NHS England and Milton Keynes Council.

Dr Nicola Smith, Chair of Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “We are delighted to have this modern addition to primary care services in Milton Keynes. Working in partnership with the local council and OneMedical Group we aim to provide excellent healthcare that meets the needs of a growing population.”

She said the Whitehouse Health Centre will relieve pressure on existing facilities and cater for future demand from housing developments.

Cllr Hannah O’Neill, Cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Milton Keynes Council is delighted to have played its part in bringing a vital facility to the Western Expansion Area. This will be a wonderful asset to the communities in that part of Milton Keynes, offering a comprehensive health service. We are committed to ensuring that as Milton Keynes grows we have the facilities and services local people need.”

The new health centre will operate from two floors of a three-storey building and will have 11 consulting rooms and two treatment rooms.

Dr Will Dawson, Chief Executive of OneMedical Group, said: “The OneMedical Group team is excited to be working with NHS Milton Keynes CCG to launch this brand new NHS primary care service within the Whitehouse Health Centre.

“As an organisation we are passionate about providing the very best care and ending health inequalities. This new site in the west provides us the opportunity to offer an innovative service for everyone in Milton Keynes, which will become a core part of the local community and play a key role in improving health and wellbeing. It is a huge privilege and we are all looking forward to welcoming our first patients.”
