Andrew Jolly found himself with time on his hands after his usual wedding and business bookings were cancelled during the coronavirus pandemic.

"In these extremely quiet times I wanted to do something for all our keyworkers and acknowledge the job that they continue to do whilst others are in lockdown," he said.

He appealed for keyworkers who would like to be photographed with their partners or families outside their homes - and within days was inundated with suggestions of local people who would fit the bill.

The pictures have now all been published in Andrew's blog, which you can see here . They were also posted on his Facebook page called A Jolly Photographer.

The long line-up includes Andrew the bus driver, Gavin the train driver, Dawn the midwife, Maddie the assistant head teacher, Laura the postwomen, Lena the student nurse, Liz the healthcare assistant, Steph the veterinary nurse, Gale the police radio controller, Adam the delivery driver, Clare the Emergency Department sister, Jordan the police officer and Rob the waste collector.

All are heroes who have risked their own lives to help others during the Covid-19 crisis, says Andrew, whose blog gives a brief description of what they all do.

He has snapped them standing on their doorsteps, some alone and some with their families.

"Each day I took around seven or eight photos and posted them as a story... The likes, loves and comments have all been so positive," he said.

"This whole experience has been very rewarding and humbling. Listening to their stories in the brief time that I had with them all was great as each and every key worker has a role to play in our daily lives while we sit in lockdown."

Andrew has given each of the keyworkers a copy of their photo to keep.

"I wanted it to be an act of kindness," he said.
