Record high number of new Covid cases in Milton Keynes today

There has been the highest ever number of new Covid cases in Milton Keynes today, the day the city learned it would be put into Tier 3 restrictions has seen

Over the past 24 hours, 245 new people have tested positive in the city. This brings the total number of cases to 5,720 since the start of the pandemic.

Happily there has been no new deaths over the past 24 hours, and the total still stands at 235.

Covid figures increased significantly throughout the UK today, with 35,383 new positive tests . There were 532 deaths.
