Seven new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Milton Keynes this weekend

Seven more people have tested positive for coronavirus in MK over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Friday saw no new cases in the city, but yesterday (Saturday) brought out six new cases and there was one more confirmed today (Sunday).

There have now been 966 officially-tested cases in MK since the start of the pandemic - but the figure including untested cases is believed to be considerably higher.

Three new testing stations are shortly to be set up in MK to encourage more people to get tested for the virus. These will in in the areas of Bletchley, Wolverton and Woughton and will be in addition to the drive-thru testing station in Central Milton Keynes.

Meanwhile Council leader Pete Marland says the MK infection rate is rising faster than he would like and he has urge people to stick rigidly to social distancing regulations. See the Citizen story here .
